Great cup cakes. It's always a treat when we walk down main street withe the kids and they get to pick out a flavor. The cupcakes are very big and comparable to the new large Publix cupcakes (In size). The frosting is enticing and flavorful. The cupcake within is moist. I do get a sugar overload though and feel that there should be less frosting, but that's just me. The owner is very attentive and has a wine bar where you can hang out and watch t.v or talk to the owner who is an ex- corporate attorney who left the dark side to bring the joy of cupcakes to the world. She will do special orders, and I recommend liking her on Facebook. The reason for this is that I do get bored with some of cupcakes. She will make seasonal flavors or limited flavors. If you are not on the look out, you will miss out. Don't pass this place up if you're in the Harbor.

Strolling the streets of Safety Harbor after dinner I did not plan on topping off my meal with dessert. With intentions to only browse, I decided to check out Pick Your Poison Cupcake Cafe but ended up purchasing one of the delicious creations. The display case of cupcakes is filled with a great selection of flavors that can range from Red Velvet to Peanut Butter Cup. The cupcakes are not the largest I have ever seen but can still be considered to be a more than satisfying-sized serving. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a good selection of beverages - including beer and wine for adults who want to pair their cupcakes with a suitable libation. One bite into the delicious, moist cake and I was convinced that this is my new go to place for cupcakes. Thank goodness it is located miles away from my home because I really don't need to make these cupcakes anything more than an occasional indulgence.

Nice shop for sure, but we didn't get to try any cupcakes for a few reasons today: 1)Lots of people waiting for service from the only person in the store at the end of the day 2)Only a few cupcakes left 3)The prices seemed high: $3 for a regular size (that seemed smaller than usual) and $1 for a mini (which is the size of a big thimble We'll try again in the near future.

Stopped in on the final day of the Chalk fest. In the final few minutes before the closing of the store. And I grabbed the last Coconut Cuppy and One of the last vanillas. They were quite tasty! I was told that they'd been baked within the last 12 hours, because the store's owner was up until 3am that morning baking.. Business has been brisk due to the 3rd Friday and of course the Chalk festival. I'd like to see what other flavours she has in the future.

I was having a rough day and sweets were the only solution. The Pick your Poison name is appropriate because they have different options of guilty pleasures you can enjoy. I thought I wanted wine as my poison, but I chose the cupcakes instead. There wasn't a huge variety of cupcakes when I went in which is why I gave a 3 star rating. When I go into a cupcake or sweets spot, I want everything to look tempting, I want everything to be calling me, I want to be overwhelmed with sugar amazingness...I didn't feel that. So what I am trying to say is a full cupcake case, with bigger cupcakes and a great display would have Wowed me more. But lets talk about taste since that is the most important thing. I thought the cupcakes were good, they did the trick...very sweet. I ordered the peanut butter cup and the chocolate chip. I don't think they were the best cupcakes I ever had, and I wouldn't go out of my way to drive to get one, BUT if I was walking on Mainstreet, I would be tempted to come in and try one. I think they are closed on Monday and Tuesday, cupcakes are around $3.

Best cupcakes I have had in Pinellas county... To date. I loved them! I Only wish they were enormous like other cupcake shops because it is fun to eat a huge cupcake! But then again... Who needs to eat more cupcake? The peanut butter, coconuts, strawberry, vanilla and all the other ones I had were great. Honestly the thing I liked most about this place (because I am a 6 year old trapped in a 29 year olds body) was the edible glitter atop the cupcakes!!!!!! Beautiful look to match the Delicious taste!

I don't really like sweets, I normally live vicariously through others when it comes to cupcakes, which is what I did today. I watched my wife and my three year old daughter destroy a couple cupcakes. That's right, I've basically enlisted them so I could write this review, I have no shame. My daughter had a pink strawberry princess cupcake, I'm not sure what it was really called, but I think that most accurately describes it (photo below). There were lots of "mmmms" and "nomnomnoms" so I would say she rates it pretty highly. The missus had a coffee toffee cupcake. She stated that it was the best cupcake that she has had, and that the frosting really made the cupcake. This is a cute little place. They even have small tables for children with coloring books and crayons, and the owners seemed very friendly. Based upon the reactions and comments of my family, this place will score a five.

Average cupcakes at above average prices. Nothing special and nothing you couldn't whip up with a box of Duncan Hines. I ordered the salted caramel. Yes there was a caramel on top of the icing but that was where it ended. I tasted no salt whatsoever. Disappointing.

We love pick your poison! This is my daughters favorite place to get dessert because she can get a pink cupcake with pink glitter (strawberry) while my husband and I get to enjoy the more adventurous cupcakes which are always delicious!

Cruising the Safety Harbor main strip with my child and her wagon, I was surprised to come face to face with a cupcake cafe. While we entered Pick Your Poison Cupcake Cafe simply because of the "cupcake" in its name we were pleasantly surprised to find that the cafe also offers beer and wine that is meant to pair with their gourmet cupcakes. They do this so that each customer can "pick their favorite poison." The cupcakes at Pick Your Poison are made daily by bakers using a recipe that has been scrutinized many times over. So before it makes it to the cupcake case, you can be sure that someone somewhere had to really like it. The cafe also offers gluten free vanilla and chocolate cupcakes but no vegan ones (cue the sad face). Despite all the unique and interesting flavors my wife wound up ordering a plan chocolate one that was speckled in glitter that cost around three dollars. She enjoyed the taste of it thoroughly. My complaint, as an outsider looking in, was the price tag. For the same price I can go to Cupcake Cache in Tampa and get a huge gourmet cupcake (so big I have to eat it with a spoon) with unique flavor blends and stuffed with a treat. I understand the cafe charging that price for some of the creative cupcakes like bacon infused maple syrup because these versions truly require some planning and the cost of ingredients is a bit more. I understand that price tag for gluten free cupcakes as they also require a bit more experimentation. But 3 dollars for a plain chocolate one? I think the cafe might want to consider a scale for their pricing instead of one size fits all. More "regular" flavored cupcakes priced a bit lower while the higher price tag remains for the more exotic flavors.

Yum! Just had the most delicious coconut cupcake! Cute little shop in Safety Harbor with a good variety of specialty cupcakes, Cupcake wine, and beer. The cupcake frosting was a-maz-ing, give me a bowl of that stuff and a spoon and I will be a happy camper. A touch of edible glitter was the icing on the cake...or something like that. ;) $3 for a smallish cupcake, but worth it for that frosting!!

Such a cute place for a fun different treat. Very cute, clever cupcakes. Not too big, not too small. Just right. My daughter had chocolate on chocolate with edible glitter which she is still fascinated by (Mommy, I've never been able to eat glitter before. Are you sure it's OK?). My son opted for the coconut. Their special today was a "Pay Day" cupcake and damn if she didn't nail it. Looked just like one, loaded with peanuts! They were both inhaled. My son wanted seconds and he is such a healthy eater, he never asks for seconds of anything. My daughter, of course, can never have enough chocolate. They also have some very cute cupcake type tshirts and other cute little tchakis inside. All in all, a nicely put together little place that I will stop again the next time in Safety Harbor and so should you!

Maria did an outstanding job! She made the cupcakes for our wedding and they were so good and got rave reviews as expected! We will be having family nights and date nights at the café for many years to come! :)

Easily the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. They are moist and the frosting is delicious. They have a great variety of flavors to choose from as well. Definitely give it a try if you are craving something sweet.

Not really much taste, just super sweet aftertaste for hours. Nut on top tasted stale.

My girlfriend and I have gone here maybe 5-6 times. She is a cupcake FREAK! I have gotten the chocolate peanut butter cupcake 5/6 times. Man is it good. A bit pricey at $3, but worth it. The frosting is peanut butter, and the cupcake is chocolate. We have also tried Cookies n' Cream, Irish Car Bomb, and a few others. If you like cupcakes you def need to try this place.

Maria and Jessica made my moms 75th birthday extra special. From the moment I contacted them from California. Maria took such a special interest, from flavors to colors to design. It was beautiful, delicious and filled with love....very elegant too. The design was the number "75" in a silver and blue glitter theme made with 75 mini cupcakes in 6 flavors. Thank you.... You're amazing.

This was my first visit to Pick Your Poison Cupcake Cafe and we stopped in because we were attending 3rd Friday in Safety Harbor. I am so glad we decided to stop in because I have been looking for a delicious cupcake shop in this area! I know cupcake shops are all the rage right now with their high quality and delicious flavors, but I only knew of the ones in Tampa and that's just too far to drive for a cupcake. They had some really amazing looking cupcakes with delicious sounding flavors and we opted to go with the Sea Salt Caramel cupcake, Turtle cupcake and Peanut Butter Cup cupcake. My sister and I split the Sea Salt Caramel and Turtle and both ate a half of each. I could not believe how delicious they really were. I was somewhat hesitant about buying them due to the fact that they are $3 a piece and I can buy cupcake mix and all the ingredients for that price and make myself 24 of them! But I decided to try out their unique flavors and splurge! I did NOT make a mistake! Purchasing these cupcakes was a great decision. I haven't tried the Peanut Butter Chocolate one yet, but the Sea Salt Carmel and Turtle cupcakes were amazing. I thought they were going to taste like the store bought version and I was going to be overpaying - but they were worth it! They were so moist and the flavors were so unique and delicious. I can't say enough good things. The only thing that kept me from rating 5 stars was the $3 per cupcake price. But for gourmet cupcakes, it's okay to splurge for quality everyone once in a while!

I've tried three different cupcakes and they were all disappointing. The cake portion was fine, but the icing was ridiculously sweet. The pretzel toppings were stale.

I love Safety Harbor! Following dinner at Southern Fresh, I found this place around the corner. Maria is the shop's owner and was more than friendly. Lovely little cupcakery, and she sells beer too! I had the pumpkin spice with cream cheese icing. OMG, delicious! I may have taken a few years off my life with my dinner and dessert choices tonight, but it was well worth it.

I love cupcakes and was so thrilled to see this cute little spot in Safety Harbor. They have a great variety of flavors and offer the most traditional flavors with a few fun flavors thrown in as well. They have standard pricing for cupcakes and I like that they are the perfect size - not too big and not too small. I'll be going back for a fix next time I'm in the area.
